The local neighborhood children’s class is located in a focus neighborhood of East Wenatchee how wonderful that it hosted a devotional with 25 attendees only 6 attendees were Baha’is’, the greater majority were all friends and family of the local children’s class.

The children read and recited prayers. An amazing accomplishment by the friends in Wenatchee.

“These are the glimmerings of what a milestone 2 community might look like…”  Al Jensen.

The following excerpts shared by Marie Moran of Wenatchee:

I want to share an update about our neighborhood devotional and to thank you all for the support you provided in the form of prayer and wonderful desserts/snacks.

This was the second devotional we’ve had in the neighborhood, but the first designed as a program of the children’s class.
A total of 26 people participated, including 19 non-Baha’is. 20 were members of the immediate neighborhood, including 2 youth and 2 junior youth. A neighbor even invited her mother who lives and teaches school in Quincy! Three of the neighbors do not have any children but came to support the children and fellowship with their neighbors.
The children and junior youth read prayers, led the group in songs, shared quotes they have learned and led the group in a lively game. The evening ended with desserts and a dog walk organized by a neighbor.
At one point I counted 20 people between the ages of 3 and 50 walking together down the street! This turned out to be a great way to meet a few new neighbors.
We are definitely planning to do this again in a few months.
I strongly feel that these wonderful successes would not happen if it were not for the loving support of the larger Baha’i community. I am touched by how, no matter what circumstances we are in individually, we all find ways to contribute wholeheartedly. In our culture, we can tend to underestimate the power of unified prayer or deceptively simple acts of service (such as providing food or simply asking how something went). Our community demonstrates just how powerful this can be. Thank you all!
